My mouthpiece broke off, and now there is a little black plastic thing stuck in the pipe.

The stuck plastic bit can be removed by twisting a wood screw into the plastic bit, and then pulling with pliers, as shown in the photos below.


  • For the old-style (2004-2010) 3/16in. bore mouthpieces, use a #4 wood screw
  • For the newer-style (2011-present) 1/4in. bore mouthpieces, use a #8 wood screw

Only go in about 2-3 turns. Going in too far can make the bit tighter and harder to remove. The black plastic piece will come out with the screw. Email us if you have trouble with this, or if you cannot find a suitable screw, we can send one to you.
